My concept was about the inner workings of a person and the complexity inside someone’s mind. This project really prioritized improving our crafting skills, being able to move from a 2D space to a 3D space, and still maintaining the elements and principles we have learned. The most difficult part about making this form was the angles; creating the tunnels to line up with the sides of the form at just the right angle and then aligning those with holes that I would cut out of the side was a very difficult challenge. I did a lot of iterations with this project which I think helped me improve in that area in the projects following it. I made dozens of these forms just trying to get it right, and even in the end things didn’t match up perfectly. I found a lot of frustration with it but I think that if the form was pristine and perfect, it wouldn’t have communicated that concept as clearly.
