I absolutely loved this project. This was our first time using Illustrator to its full extent and it was so enjoyable to figure out. I created my mashup word “foggles” by combining the word fog and the word goggles to represent the phenomena when your goggles fog up from the heat of your body. I created this rendering to show a science classroom of sorts and I really aimed to make the two G’s in the word look like the goggles. I added posters, beakers, bubbles, and spilled chemicals to really communicate the concept clearly. The posters I chose to include are, in my experience, very in character for a high school science lab. They are corny jokes that are meant to communicate some sort of safety regulation but just end up being ignored by the students. I incorporated the definition into the piece by putting it on a dirty and crinkled piece of paper on the floor because science classrooms always have paper all over the floor. This piece was so enjoyable to me not only because it was digital, but because I could really let my creativity go when making it.
