For this project, we created a personal sketchbook that reflected us as designers. I prioritized functionality, size, and personality when creating mine. I wanted several different paper options, a personal touch, a bookmark, and a pocket. I created the cover pieces using chipboard that I covered in faux leather. I left a rectangular hole in the front cover so that there would be a view into the scrapbook-like page I put right underneath the cover. I love scrapbooking and will take every opportunity to do it, and I thought it was the perfect way to incorporate a personal touch. I included some of my favorite photos of my family, friends, and guinea pigs, and included some fun recycled materials as well. I bound the book together with binder rings to ensure the book was replenishable and also laid flat for comfortable use. I included plastic tabs and a pocket to divide the paper types and house loose papers that I want to keep track of. I aimed to make this book 100% functional for me and what I use it for, rather than someone else, which is quite the opposite of what we tend to do in design.
